Christy Smith founded STUDIO KAST with the mission to redefine the design firm’s role in project relationships. The traditional design firm was reimagined to put clients needs first in the overall process and creates a working relationship that is symbiotic—our clients goals and successes define our success. “STUDIO KAST is uniquely structured so that our clients always receive the most accurate, highest quality product, delivered in the most time efficient manner. While employing full time designers and managers on staff, we also utilize adept freelancers, photographers, illustrators and partner design firms— this allows us to combine and recombine talent and ideas in new ways. We assemble customized, small, fluid groups to take on projects based on the specific deliverables. This keeps our overheads low, the quality of our product high, and our client’s costs down."
Christy has over 17 years experience in branding, packaging, marketing, strategy, creative management and graphic design. Her professional passions lie in high end branding and identity, infographics, user experience and project management.
Christy has worked with some of the most visible international branding and communications clients including the Alzheimer's Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, Chasing Harvest, Chicago Park District, Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau, Chicago Cultural Center, City of Chicago, Chicago Harbors, Cosmetic Surgery Foundation, Harris Bank, Kendall College, KingenSmith, Lollapalooza, Motorola and the University of Chicago.
Her awards include: (3) 2014 GD USA American Graphic Design Awards, the 2013 American Packaging Design Award for Chasing Harvest (published on the 50th Anniversary Magazine issue), multiple Business Marketing Association Gold Tower Awards for Branding Programs, the British Design and Art Direction Award—1st place self promotion, multiple How Design Awards, and her work has been published in (3) Graphic Design Annuals and Logolounge Books Vol 1 and Vol 2.
